Origins and Philosophy

Our very beginnings in grape growing must be dated back in 1862, in the property of Cal Janes, within the village of Pla del Penedès.

At that time the wine growers manufactured in the properties and used to sold it to retailers.
In 1982 our family started in the world of wine and cavas, making his first cavas bottles in the small family of Ca l'Avi (Subirats). In a short period of time the volume of production increases so much that  they needed to expand their facilities;  it’s in this time, in 1986, when we started to manufacture wines and cavas at our current facilities in the neighborhood of Tarumbes (Pla del Penedès).

In all these years of dedication in the vineyard, the family has improved the understanding of the environment and the land, and so they were able to interact with the nature and work on it. 

Maintaining the balance of the ecosystem and developing a sustainable cropyields makes possible that the land may express it self in our fruitage. Indeed, our wines and cavas want to be the expression of those quality characteristics that define clearly our land and our climate.

A "terroir" of quality, an ideal climate, the experience gained in working with these elements, the use of advanced technologies and a committed and professional group of people, makes us believe in this project that we are solidifying day after day.
